For the accustomed security of the Quraysh, Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of winter and summer Let them worship the Lord of this House, Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.”

Historical Context

Surah was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) when he was in Mecca. During that time Mecca people were engaged in trade and commerce. Prophet Muhammad belongs to the Quraish tribes, and they held a prominent position in Mecca and Khana Kaba, the sacred house of Allah was under their control. Despite the political and economic power, the Quraysh were resistant to the message of Islam.
